Youth of the Year

Who is the Youth of the Year?
NeeAli Scott, a 17 year old high school student graduated from the Savannah Arts Academy in Savannah, GA in June 2024. As a Club member for 11 years, she has grown to be a hardworking, passionate, and loving individual, working her way up to Junior Staff here at the Club. Without a doubt, she earned the title of 2024 Youth of the Year for the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club of Savannah.
Upon graduation, NeeAli is attending Mercer University as a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience while double minoring in Dance and Business. Ultimately, she plans to attend medical school and earn an MD to become a Cardiothoracic surgeon.
In the future, she plans to give back to her community by supplying an art outlet for those who may not have access through own dance studio. Frank Callen is proud to have NeeAli represent and inspire all of the kids who grow and benefit from membership in our Club.
For 75 years, the Youth of the Year program has honored and celebrated the nation’s most inspiring teens and their incredible journeys. Stories of outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle have made Youth of the Year America’s premier leadership and recognition program for teens. These amazing young people represent the voice and spirit of hope for America. Inspiring all kids to lead. To succeed. To inspire.
The objective is to select the Youth of the Year who best embodies the qualities of leadership and service, academic excellence, living a healthy lifestyle, and who can speak to the impact that their Club or BGCA-Affiliated Youth Center has made in their life. They should be involved in their community, advocate for issues affecting today’s youth, as well as demonstrate leadership skills in their interactions with others and in their communities. They create meaningful change and motivate and inspire others
At Frank Callen, any of our youth are invited to apply for the honor of being chosen as Youth of the Year and the chance to compete for State, Regional and National level recognition and Scholarship awards. Each youth must submit an application with an essay, references and interview before a committee. It is a valuable process as the winner represents our Club and the many attributes that have been nurtured through their experience and years as a member of Frank Callen.
